You can still download Windows 10 for free. Here's how.How to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free - The Verge

Thanks for your feedback. I said update not upgrade. I clearly said that manually download kbxxxxxx updates files which are download through windows update. I just want kbxxxxxx updates for windows 10 64 bit. Because its so irritating those big size updates files download over and over again. Apology for I did not understand your query and I appreciate the time taken by you in getting back to us. There is no way to download Windows Update KBs manually and add them to Windows 10 ISO file so that all of them get installed with windows installation.

However, once you have all Windows Update installed on your computer and everything is in order, you may take a system image.

With that system Image you can restore your computer up to all those updates every time after you format your hard drive. Only newer updates will be required to be updated.

Updates KB numbers can also be downloaded and installed manually but they have to be downloaded individually. Considering the scenario of hard drive format and operating system reinstallation, downloading and installing each Windows Update manually and individually will be too much of a task and very time consuming.

Hope this answers your query. For any further assistance with Windows, please write back to us. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another.

With all previous versions of Windows it was possible to slipstream updates onto an ISO so when you built a system from scratch it would have all updates to that point.

Is Microsoft going to make a new ISO image available after every update is pushed out with all of the current updates on it? Since you have no way to manually apply updates after you do a from scratch install the updates have to be on the ISO used to do the build. Of all my Windows issues, this too is my most frustrating. In the past MS would make periodic Service Packs that wrapped up the security and other updates, evidently only when they wanted to or felt they had to.

There have been some methods to slipstream the updates together, I believe some companies or sites have built them. I tried one site for XP but it was awkward and never worked for me. Sadly, their answer, make a backup of the system for future restores is the only workaround I've had. For a huge company one would think they'd help simplify this process.

But they don't. Try internet searching for: "How to Slipstream Windows 10". One site to try is WinBuzzer. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Support for Windows 7 ended more than a year ago, and Microsoft wants holdouts to upgrade to Windows 10 to keep devices running securely and smoothly. But you don't necessarily have to shell out the cash: A free upgrade offer from Microsoft that technically ended in still works for many people.

And if you've found yourself spending more time at home on your computer due to the pandemic , it may be a good time to try it out for yourself. When Windows 10 was first released in July , Microsoft offered an unprecedented free upgrade offer for Windows 7, 8 and 8.

As of the end of April , readers are still emailing me and commenting below, saying that it's worked for them as well. Windows 7 users who don't upgrade to the new version will no longer be able to get Microsoft's security updates or fixes, or technical support for any issues, leaving your computer at greater risk from viruses and malware.

While Windows 10 users have experienced a number of bugs over the years, upgrading remains the best option for keeping your computer safe , analysts say. And more people seem to be making the move: Windows 10 now has more than 1 billion active users worldwide, Microsoft reported in March.

Here's how to get Windows 10 for free, if you're currently running a licensed and activated copy of Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8. Go to the Download Windows 10 website. Under Create Windows 10 installation media , click Download tool now and Run. If you're upgrading a different machine, choose Create installation media for another PC , and save the installation files.

It should be noted that if you have a Windows 7 or 8 Home license, you can only update to Windows 10 Home, while Windows 7 or 8 Pro can only be updated to Windows 10 Pro. The upgrade is not available for Windows Enterprise. Other users may experience blocks as well , depending on your machine. This upgrade using the media creation tool isn't meant for the general consumer, but it works for many nonetheless. To get the best Windows 10 experience and take advantage of features like passwordless sign-on through Windows Hello , you'll want to purchase a new Windows 10 PC or one released after July with all the hardware upgrades.

If you're a student or university faculty member, you may also be able to download Windows 10 for free search for your school's software offerings here.
